Theatre and Performance Spaces
The Colac Otway Performing Arts & Cultural Centre (COPACC) is the Colac Otway Shire's home of the performing and visual arts. COPACC embraces the skills, arts, beliefs, traditions and aspirations of our community, catering for the performing arts, films and exhibitions.
COPACC also serves as a major function centre for South West Victoria, with a number of spaces available that can be configured for interviews, business meetings, workshops, community consultation or large dinners and formal events.
Spaces available
Auditorium One
Auditorium One is a 344-seat Shakespearean-style theatre with cinema projection facilities and comfortable cinema style seating. It is ideal for theatres, dance shows and large Audiovisual presentations.
The Civic Hall
The Civic Hall is a 21m x 12m open space suitable for a range of functions.
The hall can be equipped as a dance studio space, a 120-seat dinner or function venue, a band performance area, or an intimate performance space with seating for up to 250 people depending on room layout.
By extending through the Meeting Rooms we can easily accommodate functions in excess of 300 people in cabaret style, with room for a band and dance floor.
Meeting Rooms
Meeting Room 1 is a 7.3m x 8.5m space equipped with an audio system, screen/projector and a small kitchenette. It can seat 15 to 40 people depending on room layout, and is fitted with operable walls on two sides allowing it to become an open plan space.
Meeting Room 2 is a 6.9m x 8.5m space equipped with an audio system, screen/projector and is a perfect space perfect for small corporate meetings and dinners. The room can seat 15 to 40 people depending on room layout and is fitted with operable walls on one side to allow it to become an open plan space.
Meeting Rooms 1 & 2 are equipped with a TOA infrared conferencing system, with battery-operated delegate stations. The system allows for a chairperson with priority microphone privileges and up to twelve delegates to address an audience.
Rehearsal Room
The Rehearsal Room is a 6.4m x 8.0m space equipped with an audio system, screen/projector and kitchenette.
It can seat anywhere from 10 to 40 people depending on room layout.
Green Room
The Green Room is a 3.2m x 6.5m space equipped with a small kitchenette.
It can seat from 4 to 12 people depending on room layout.
This room is frequently used for interviews and small-group meetings.
The Gallery
The Gallery is a 12m x 6m open plan space within the main foyer of COPACC.
The area has large north-facing windows and a north-facing atrium to maximise natural light, with the windows fitted with UV blinds to reduce light when required.
The Gallery main wall is 12m x 2.4m high, fitted with Spyder gallery tracking systems and EuroTrak lighting track systems.
In addition to this, COPACC has black mobile display boxes fitted with Spyder track and glass display casements that can be positioned within the space to add to any display.
For larger displays, the Civic Hall is also equipped with over 60m of Spyder track.
