This is a community sculpture art project led by artist Veronica Phillips.
Sculpture and found objects, each bird is approximately 20cm in height.
Throughout 2021 and 2022, Veronica worked with students of various schools throughout the Colac Otway Shire and Surf Coast Shire on the creation of small sculptures from materials discarded and otherwise harmful for the environment.
Students used farm waste - wire, haybale twine, metal, silage plastic wrap and found objects to make sculptures about the regions threatened bird species whose habitat is at risk when waste is not disposed of properly.
The project brings to life the need for habitat protection for endangered species in farming and regional communities.
