Serving Up Stories is a social enterprise, proudly imagined, designed and delivered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people from Wathaurong’s Karroong Kanyool Youth Hub and partnering with the Colac Koorie Kids Club.

Over the past 12 months, these young leaders have committed to an intensive journey of growth, beginning with yarning about how to share culture through storytelling, dance and food, and evolving into a fully realised cultural performance. Throughout the project, participants have built real-world skills in event planning, budgeting and hospitality, while also engaging deeply with cultural knowledge, traditional storytelling and dance. Along the way, they have stepped beyond their comfort zones, strengthening their confidence, resilience, leadership and sense of belonging. Every element of this event reflects their self-determination, creativity and collective vision.

This immersive evening invites guests to connect with the stories of Victoria and waterways, exploring Creation stories, learnings and lessons and the richness of culture through performance and shared experience.

With our Soup prepared by our wonderful supporters In The Skies in Lorne and Dessert prepared by Blak Brews, we’re in for a treat!

By attending, you are not only enjoying a unique cultural experience, you are supporting the Colac Aboriginal Gathering Place and next generation of strong, proud cultural leaders and showing them that we believe in them too.
